The SARA-N310 NB-IoT multi-band module is designed to support a curated array of features aligned with 3GPP Release 14 specifications. Through subsequent firmware updates, it will progressively achieve full Release 14 and 5G compliance, expanding its capabilities.
Equipped with essential firmware features and internet protocols tailored for NB-IoT applications, including TCP, CoAP, DTLS, LwM2M, MQTT, SSL/TLS and HTTP(S), the SARA-N310 facilitates the development of a wide range of IoT solutions. This simplifies the transition for customers migrating from legacy cellular or unlicensed technologies to NB-IoT. The u-blox nested design ensures seamless migration between u-blox LTE-M, LTE Cat 1, and 2G modules, guaranteeing future-proof, scalable solutions across different technologies.
Notably, the SARA-N310 boasts power optimisation, offering over a decade of battery life on a single primary cell battery. This significantly reduces maintenance costs. Critical firmware updates can be seamlessly delivered over the air using the u-blox uFOTA client/server solution with LwM2M, which is lighter compared to OMA-DM. Additionally, the LwM2M-configurable objects empower device manufacturers to tailor features to their specific requirements.
