Alpha Micro Introduces the ZED-F20P: u-blox’s First Triple-Band GNSS Module for Scalable Robotics

At Alpha Micro, we’re proud to introduce the ZED-F20P from our partner u-blox — a next-generation GNSS module built to deliver centimetre-level accuracy for advanced ground and aerial robotics. Launched in May 2025, the ZED-F20P is the first in its class to support triple-band L1, L2 and L5 signals in a compact, low-power design.
This module directly addresses the growing demand for high-performance navigation in autonomous systems. Whether it’s coordinating drone swarms, guiding robotic mowers, or managing inspection fleets, the ZED-F20P delivers accuracy, reliability and ease of integration at scale.
Key Features and Advantages
With triple-band GNSS, the ZED-F20P ensures faster convergence and stronger performance in complex environments like cities or forests. It supports RTK and PPP-RTK, enabling centimetre-level positioning without requiring a nearby base station. Thanks to its 25 Hz update rate, the module can track fast-moving robots with real-time responsiveness.
Moreover, it is designed with low power consumption, making it ideal for battery-operated or mobile systems. Integration is straightforward, with full compatibility for existing ZED footprints and the u-blox UBX protocol. It also works seamlessly with the ANN-MB2 high-precision antenna and PointPerfect GNSS correction services, adding flexibility for developers.
Designed for Scalable Autonomy
The ZED-F20P suits OEMs building the next wave of autonomous platforms, from logistics bots to drones. Its security and rugged reliability ensure consistent results across both urban and rural terrains.
u-blox Director of Product Management, Mårten Ström, said:
“The ZED-F20P delivers the precision and reliability required for today’s ground and air robotics. It enables engineering teams to move from prototype to deployment with confidence.”
Engineering samples ship from June 2025. For evaluation, the EVK-X20P kit is available now. As a u-blox distributor, Alpha Micro offers technical support to help your teams test, integrate, and scale the ZED-F20P effectively. Contact us today.
